THE PRIEST OF SANTA MARIA - ( CHAPTER 49 ) - { PT. 5 }

 ( CHAPTER  49)  -  { PT.  5 } - Is there entrance, wearing a beaming smile. Is there a baby in there? She touched the woman's stomach. The woman gasped and clutched at her bump. I felt a kick. Frya smiled with knowing. Your mothers has been looked for you. It's story time with nonno. Okay, said Salvatrice who swivelled round and ran to her mother. Seconds later, she reached a woman busy hanging washing on a clothesline nearby. Salvatrice, where have you been and why are you following those older children? I don't follow them, they follow me.Angelica stifled a chuckle. Of course. Nonno is waiting for you inside. Salvatrice casually hummed as she strolled through the door. Angelica finished hanging the clothing and stopped for a moment, her eyes locked inside her mind. A sorrowful tear escaped each eye, rolled down to her chin and cascaded to the ground. She picked up her basket, headed indoors and walked past Kurush and Salvatrice who were sitting cross-legged on the floor. Kurush looked her way. Angelica avoided eye contact, pulled aside a curtain and entered another room. The Spartan bedroom consisted to two military-style beds and a hand-made wooden wardrobe. Angelica slumped down on one of the cots. The sun filtered through a hole partly covered with a beige makeshift curtain.
