THE PRIEST OF SANTA MARIA - [ CHAPTER 48 ] - { PT. 6 }

 { PT.  6 } - Christiano! Angelica groped his shoulders. What's the matter? Christiano! She shook him as his mouth opened but no words found their way to his tongue. He grabbed at his left shoulder as he dropped to his knees. Christinao! Behind him, Kristoff wore a mordant smirk. He pulled the knife from Christiano's back and kicked him aside, making an easy path within reach of Angelica. Christinao writhed on the floor, his spine twisted and his hand attempting to reach the spot--as if it might alleviate the pain. Get...on the...boat. The words strained through his throat. Angelica tried to rush to him, but Kristoff stood in her path. He brandished his blade at her before proceeding to pull out a larger knife with a lethal serrated edge. With a blade in each hand, he flashed pearly white teeth that reflected the orange flicker of flames. Before I separate your head from your body, you will renounce your bond with Satan? My bond is with the Almighty. He bent his head to one side and gazed at her as if she were a different species. There's something about you. You're not like the others. So you're the one who killed all those women and their unborn babies. And you will be the most interesting kill of them all. Move away from the door, or everyone on that boat dies. She followed the tracks of his feet as he stepped backwards. Keep coming, he said, beckoning her with his blades. They stopped a few feet away from the lifeboat. You're not even going to fight me? I was told Satan had endowed you with the powers to protect his child. One day you'll answer to God for all that you've done.
